Last post of 2006. Lets hope I remember to write more often next year.

We finished our game project a few weeks ago. Nothing fancy, and I’m really only satisfied with the design part. It turned out really well I think. The implementation is a mess because of the Source engine on which it is build, and because our game design was not really suited for a first person shooter engine. The exam is in january, along with our Rocket Science exam… erhm, I mean Math for Game Programmers exam. Same thing really though. I need to read up on that.

Oh, and since my last post the Wii has arrived! It is an amazing machine, and some of the games shows a lot of promise for the future - especially the small games in Wii Sports. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is great too, even though the Wii controls seems a bit tacked on. I can’t wait for some clever dude to enable homebrew programming for the Wii.

In review 2006 has been a good year. I got a second son for my birthday, university has changed for the better with my shift to game programming, I played great games like EVE: Online, Dragon Quest VIII and several Castlevania-games and I even had some luck with the games I worked on myself. I could not ask for much more.

2007 is on its way. I’ll go get ready.
