Summer holiday is definitely the best time of the year. Not because of the warmth - it’s terrible - but because of all the spare time. I don’t have as much spare time as I did two years ago, but still just enough to relax with other occupations than studying. In a few years I might not have these long holidays anymore… I’d better enjoy them now.
First of all I’m working on a contribution to a Danish game design competition. I’m doing all the programming, and also helping with some simple graphics, sound and design issues. It’s nice not to be working all alone on this one - the quality of the game is certainly higher than it would be otherwise. Only problem is that the game is in Flash. Meaning it’s a lot of rather trivial code, written in a frustrating language. Hand me a Nintendo DS C++ job next time please.
Otherwise I’m doing a longer article as a celebration to one of my favorite game series. It’s a series of games which are supporting and teaching the very basics of human nature - and doing it in a very unique way. I’m not telling which series it is just yet - you will have to wait for august 6.

Almost three weeks ago I got my first official title: B. Sc. Informatics - A bachelor’s degree in informatics. Meaning I’m supposed to know a lot about Human-Computer Interaction, including how to design and test for software usability, how to manage design and development of software and even about how people react and feel when they interact with software. The bachelor’s project contributed loosely to those skills, and was generally well received - the written part of the project was allegedly excellent, but apparently our defense at the exam was not that good.
Almost two weeks ago I got my second son: Zack - perfect physical accuracy at 3.500 gr. and 54 cm. He has been alternating between sleep-mode and eat-mode ever since - I like that. His brother Vincent likes him too, but finds the embryonic play-mode strange and disappointing.
Almost one week ago my review of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask was made available here (in Danish only). It just might be one of my best reviews so far.
