Re-activated my EVE Online account. This game is really not like any other MMORPG. I can stop anytime I want, and I dont really feel the need to come back. I mean, I want to play it again, but not necessarily right away. It might be because I only have been playing a few weeks, but I think it’s something else. The biggest difference to me is the way my character gains experience. It does not come from any practical activity - it just grows as time passes. I dont even need to be logged in. If I pay I level. No grind. This might seem meaningless - and it is. That is why there are other activities to spend time with. The boring level grind is pulled out of this MMORPG, but the social aspects, the trading and the exploration is still there. What more can one ask for? Well… perhaps something other than space to explore. Space is beautiful and breathtaking, but also very empty and almost neverending.

Today someone reminded me of this blog of mine. Perhaps I should try to update it more often then.
Nothing interesting is going on at the university this semester. At least not in my opinion. The project we are supposed to write is about interpersonal communication in a professional context, and not at all about games or anything which does not involve a “professional context”. Boring. And kind of sad that games is not taken serious in these communication studies. Like interpersonal communication in a gaming context should be less important to study?
